Today we will be talking about the Navigator Lift-Away Self-Cleaning Brushroll Upright Vacuum. We already know what a great value this vacuum is, but with so many options to choose from, is it still the best option in its category for 2023?
At the time of writing this post in February 2023, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Self-Cleaning Brushroll Upright Vacuum retails for $240 - $280 in stores. It features a respectable 12 inch wide base , with 3 included attachments and a 25 foot cord.
We started our search for the most efficient vacuum before our business even started, we tried many different brands. Kenmore, Ryobi, LG, and even Dyson. What we were looking for was a competitive price, high suction power, and easy maneuverability. It also doesn't hurt to have a beautiful red color.
First Impressions
Our experience with this vacuum started off on the right foot, as we opened the box we notice the 3 attachments came covered in a nice fabric pouch to protect from scratching and damage. Everything was sealed nicely. The instructions to set up the vacuum are very straight forward to follow, although the pictures that represent the directions can be a little confusing. The parts in the picture were not labeled.

Design: Sleek
Weight: 18 pounds
Cord: 25 feet long
Cleaning: Self Cleaning
Maneuverability: Can remove body from base
The First 30 Days
Over the first 30 days we tested it in 18 different households over a variety of surfaces that included hardwood, laminate, carpet, rugs, and fabric furniture. The Shark Navigator features 2 different settings to distinguish between hardwood and carpet. This feature is accessed by a switch on the left hand side of the vacuum handle. It also has an additional way to reduce airflow by switching between "Min" and "Max" this is located near the top of the handle. Reducing the airflow is best for carpets, while using the most airflow possible is best for hard surfaces and crevices.
Where this vacuum really shines is with carpet. Having the flexibility to adjust the airflow and suction power really allowed us to get all the dirt and dust out of clients home. With a thin base, it's extra easy to get underneath furniture without having to move everything. Immediately after lifting the dirt and grime , the room smelled even better. Combine with Arm & Hammer Carpet Odor Eliminator for even better results. We powdered the floors 15 minutes prior to starting.
If i could make any adjustments to this Navigator, it would be to the capacity. With a smaller than average size we found ourselves having to empty it more often. As professionals we empty the tank between houses for the best clean possible. But when we consider this as a personal vacuum it does seem like it can be an inconvenience to have to empty it after every use.
Is It Worth It?
100% yes! You get a lightweight, easy to store vacuum with high suction that can reduce when needed. With consumer reviews claiming the longevity of this product, you are definitly getting your moneys worth in a personal use vacuum.
As someone who always used budget vacuums at home , upgrading to the Navigator Lift-Away Self-Cleaning Brushroll Upright Vacuum this was the best decision that I've made in terms of the peace it brings me having a fresh room, cost, and ease. of use. We even had to buy one for personal use!
