Keep your Hardwood Floors Shining Bright: A Step-by-Step Guide to Maintaining Their Beauty

To mop hardwood floors, you'll need the following items:
A bucket of warm water
Lysol® All-Purpose Cleaner or another wood safe all purpose cleaner
A soft mop or cloth
Here are the steps to follow:
Sweep or vacuum the floor to remove any dirt or debris.
Mix a small amount of cleaner or cleaner in a bucket of warm water.
Dip the mop or cloth in the solution, wring it out so it's damp but not soaking wet.
Mop the floor in small sections, using a back-and-forth motion.
Rinse the mop or cloth frequently in the bucket, wring it out and continue mopping.
Once you have mopped the entire floor, let it air dry or use a clean, dry cloth to wipe up any excess moisture.
It's important to not use too much water or cleaner on hardwood floors, as this can damage the wood and cause warping or discoloration.
BONUS TIPS
Use a scented cleaner or add a few drops of essential oils to the cleaning solution to leave a pleasant fragrance behind. **
After mopping, sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch on the floor and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then, sweep or vacuum it up to leave the floor smelling fresh.
Place bowls of white vinegar or scented potpourri around the room to help absorb odors.
Regularly clean your floor to prevent the buildup of dirt and odor-causing bacteria.
** Always test a new cleaner or essential oil on a small portion of the floor to ensure there is no adverse reaction
